Cameron Borgas contributed a run-a-ball 38 amid Klinger’s constant efforts to pierce the field, and Christian, thanks to a perfectly-timed Powerplay in the 34th over, launched an unforgiving assault, fetching 57 in five overs to drag his team within reach of the bonus point and a comprehensive victory.Klinger was named Man of the Match for his century. “I made a sort of an effort after the first 15 to get as many ones as I could,” he said. “I knew it would be easier to get boundaries in the first 15, and after that [I would] just try to hold it together with singles as well as I could.” He reserved special praise for Borgas, with whom he added 71 for the third wicket. “Borgy’s been playing that role really well all year and he’s having a great year in both forms [Sheffield Shield and 50-over],” he said. “He came in and ticked [the scoreboard] over straight away, which was exactly what we needed.”

While Ferhat has not been in the best of form so far this season, having failed to score a goal or register an assist over his seven Ligue 2 appearances, it is undeniable that, should Postecoglou manage to seal a deal for the Algeria international this month, it would still be something of a major coup for the Bhoys.

Indeed, over his 33 Ligue 1 appearances in Nimes’ 2020/21 campaign, the £4.05m-rated man scored six goals, registered a whopping 10 assists and created nine big chances for his teammates, as well as taking 1.9 shots and making 1.6 key passes per game.

These returns saw the £13k-per-week winger who he himself claimed loves to “turn on the style” earn a rather astonishing seasonal SofaScore match rating of 7.07, ranking him by far and away as his side’s best performer in the top flight of French football.

The ICC has sent its Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU), led by chief investigator Ravi Sawani, to New Zealand to sensitise players participating in the Under-19 World Cup about match-fixing. Prior to the tournament, the ACSU lectured the teams on safety precautions to ensure they did not fall into the trap of bookies and match-fixers.Chris Kuggeleijn, coach of the New Zealand team, said Sawani cautioned the players about the prevalence of match-fixing, and how bookies often tended to fix smaller details in ‘spot-bets’ rather than involve players in full-blown match-fixing. Potential spot-bets include the number of wides or no-balls bowled in a spell or even the number of fielders wearing caps on the field.”The thing that was made clear is that it is still going on, it hasn’t been stamped out, and it’s pretty scary. Fixers take you out for tea, they talk to you, always say hello and become your friend,” Kuggeleijn was quoted in the “It might even take them a year to fully build the relationship. They’re just after little snippets of information and it is things within a match to bet on rather than full-blown match-fixing.”Once you do something you’re bug*****. That’s because someone across the road will be taking a photo of you having a drink with the match-fixer or they’ll snap you taking something off him. FALTA DE CONVICÇÃO, MUDANÇA NATURAL…: OPINIÕES DIVERGEM

Este cenário trouxe vários pontos de vista entre especialistas e treinadores. Blogueiro do LANCE!, Fabio Chiorino apontou que a “aposta”, muitas vezes, surge por acaso:

-Nem sempre os clubes recorrem aos interinos por convicção. O caso mais emblemático talvez seja o do próprio Fábio Carille, que acabou sendo efetivado após as tentativas do Corinthians por um novo técnico não surtirem efeito. Jair Ventura e um bom exemplo de como um treinador que está começando o trabalho pode se sair bem tendo o respaldo absoluto da diretoria. É o que acontece há dois anos no Botafogo, que consegue resultados bem satisfatórios, tendo em vista suas limitações de elenco e dificuldades financeiras.

Chiorino vê alguns técnicos ficando para trás no momento:

– Os medalhões estão ficando para trás por culpa deles próprios, já que a maioria simplesmente se recusa a buscar novos aprendizados na profissão e simplesmente repetem fórmulas que já não surtem o mesmo efeito no futebol de hoje. Além disso, ainda tem a questão técnica. Poucos clubes são capazes de formarem times realmente competitivos para a temporada, então não justifica mais salários absurdos para técnicos que naturalmente terão seu trabalho limitado pela falta de evolução tática ou pela limitação natural do futebol que se disputa por aqui. E ai os jovens treinadores e os interinos passaram a ocupar este espaço diante do novo contexto.

Zico vê com bons olhos esta “nova geração”:

-Tudo é válido, principalmente quanto os resultados aparecem. Tivemos uma supervalorização de técnicos, e isto agora deve estar pesando para os clubes. Deu margem para o surgimento de uma nova geração de treinadores – afirmou, ao L!.

Aos olhos de Evaristo de Macedo, a renovação é “natural”, e os próprios medalhões deveriam ficar atentos ao novo panorama do futebol nacional:

-Isto é normal, no futebol existe uma renovação sempre. Os treinadores mais antigos já tiveram seus momentos, e creio que poderiam ter outra ocupação em vez de ainda ficar à beira do campo. Em especial, porque estamos em um momento em que o futebol brasileiro não investe nos treinadores na mesma forma do que os clubes europeus – afirmou, ao LANCE!.

Porém, Evaristo deixa um alerta aos interinos e ex-interinos que começaram a ficar em voga no mercado:

– Mesmo com uma renovação maior, que dá espaço a técnicos que foram lá para fora, não acredito em uma evolução no futebol brasileiro. Os técnicos vão entrar no mercado onde o que vale é ganhar. Você não é julgado pelo que seu trabalho vale, e sim pelos resultados.
