O atacante Romero completará 150 jogos pelo Corinthians neste domingo, contra o Cruzeiro, pela 26ª rodada do Brasileirão. Antes de chegar a essa marca, o paraguaio reencontrará no gramado do Mineirão um personagem importante do início da sua trajetória no Timão.

Dudu, preparador físico da comissão técnica de Mano Menezes e atualmente no Cruzeiro, planejou uma série de exercícios complementares para Romero fazer logo depois que chegou ao Corinthians, em 2014. Na época, Mano era o treinador do Timão.

Contratado do Cerro Porteño (PAR), Romero era considerado “franzino” pelo comissão técnica corintiana. Então, Dudu e sua equipe “traçaram uma estratégia”, como o próprio preparador físico definiu em entrevista ao LANCE!:

– Não dava para fazer um trabalho para o Romero ganhar força em um ano, porque o jogador tem que atuar. Traçamos uma estratégia para ele fazer fazer trabalhos especiais de força paralelamente aos treinos. Assim ele foi tendo mais segurança para aguentar os trancos – recordou Dudu.

– O Romero sempre foi muito dedicado, tanto nos trabalhos quanto na questão de alimentação, mesmo sentindo falta dos familiares ao lado. Com o ganho físico, ele acabou tendo um ganho mental, passou a se sentir respeitado. O fato de ele ser mentalmente forte facilitou o ganho da força física – acrescentou o preparador.

Mesmo tendo crescido mentalmente e fisicamente, Romero demorou para engrenar no Corinthians. Foram 27 jogos em 2015 e apenas 18 em 2015. Com contrato até julho de 2019, o atacante recusou propostas do futebol europeu porque ainda “não estava contente com o futebol demonstrado” e “queria fazer muito mais”. Em 2016, ganhou mais oportunidades e disputou 56 partidas.

Atualmente, Romero é intocável na escalação ideal do técnico Fábio Carille, já fez 48 jogos nesta temporada e tem o apoio da torcida, principalmente por conta do seu estilo de jogo aguerrido. Dos 25 gols marcados pelo Timão, 20 foram marcado na Arena Corinthians, sendo o maior artilheiro do estádio.

Além de tudo isso, Romero tem sido convocado constantemente para a seleção do Paraguai. Ao chegar à marca de 150 jogos pelo Corinthians, só falta a vitória sobre o Cruzeiro para deixar a festa completa!

The England & Wales Cricket Board are confident Andrew Flintoff will be available for the Ashes finale at The Oval following a positive diagnosis from his knee specialist, Andy Williams. With England facing a must-win encounter at The Oval next week following their humiliating defeat in Leeds, a return to match fitness for Flintoff – in what would be his final Test match appearance before retirement – looms as a massive boost to their prospects of regaining the Ashes.”The advice received was that the swelling in his knee has significantly eased following the decision by the England management team to rest him from the last Test Match and that subject to further rest and intensive treatment, he will be available for selection for the 5th npower Ashes Test at The Brit Oval,” the ECB said in a statementThe assessment tallies with Flintoff’s own take on events, because he himself believed he could have taken part in the Headingley debacle. According to the ever-reliable ExWHUemployee on the latest episode of ‘The West Ham Way’ podcast, the Irons hold an interest in Marseille duo Duje Caleta-Car, who is a centre-back, and Boubacar Kamara, a 21-year-old gem.

Perhaps this development should come as no surprise to those around the London Stadium after the club recruited former Les Olympiens scout Georges Santos to Rob Newman’s recruitment team in recent weeks.

Dream Noble successor

With club captain Mark Noble hanging up his boots in the summer, it could be wise to search for further midfield reinforcements, sooner rather than later.

Kamara is one of Europe’s most exciting versatile future talents. He is capable of playing in defence, both in the middle and on either flank, but it is in midfield where he appears to be the very best fit at 5 foot 10.

He has earned glowing reviews on his ability and potential already at such a young age, including one from ex-Marseille teammate Rolando.

“This kid is a phenomenon,” he claimed. “When he started training with us, he was 15 years old. And from day one, I said, no, but this little one is going to be a great player.

“He’s the kind of central defender I like. He is full of qualities and, above all, he works, he listens. It is out of the ordinary.”

Since making his debut in France, Kamara has averaged 2.3 tackles, 1.8 headers won and 1.3 interceptions per game, via WhoScored, who also list his strengths as being his aerial and passing ability, as well as his tackling and blocking.

That sort of defensive resilience and intelligence bears some hallmarks to Noble and suggests that he could be a great option sitting a little deeper alongside Declan Rice, who we have seen get forward a lot more this campaign.

Kamara also has experience in Europe, playing 19 times across the Champions and Europa League, so he would fit in well with the ambition of the club and having fellow countrymen Kurt Zouma, Alphonse Areola – who has swapped Ligue 1 for England too – and Issa Diop would surely help an easy transition.

Also lauded as a “jewel” by scout Jacek Kulig, the £25.2m-rated beast could be an exciting and long-term signing in east London.

وبحسب شبكة “سكاي سبورتس” ومتخصص الانتقالات، فابرزيو رومانو، عبر حسابه الرسمي على “تويتر” أن مانشستر يونايتد قد توصل لاتفاق مبدئي مع نيوكاسل لضم حارسه، مارتن دوبرافكا.

According to The Daily Mail, the Hammers are interested in signing Stark in January, with David Moyes seeing him as a possible Ogbonna replacement.

The 26-year-old, who can also play in defensive midfield, has started 10 of Hertha’s 11 Bundesliga matches this season, as well as winning two caps for Germany.

The Verdict: Shrewd January addition

This looks like a sensible piece of transfer business, with Stark possessing enough experience to come and help fill the Ogbonna-shaped void.

His current Hertha deal expires next summer, meaning January is the last chance to receive a fee for him and the club could be willing to sell, while the 6 foot 3 colossus is in great form at the moment, leading his side in both clearances and blocks per game.

He is a bit of a beast in the tackle, racking up a remarkable ten successful challenges out of 11 attempted in his last Bundesliga showing, per the German top flight’s official stats.

Stark’s aforementioned versatility is an added bonus, too, providing Moyes with more squad depth in a couple of areas of the pitch.

Michael Vaughan, under whose leadership Andrew Flintoff delivered a career-defining performance during the 2005 Ashes, has said Flintoff was a great player to captain but not always a professional one.”He could be difficult at times, because he is not the most professional cricketer, but with Fred you accept the whole package,” Vaughan wrote in his column. Flintoff will retire from Tests after the Oval Test but will continue to play in the shorter versions.”To get the best out of him I used to deal with him on a one-to-one basis,” Vaughan wrote. “Fred likes to be loved and he is quite soft at heart. He needs an arm around his shoulder because he does not respond to being ranted and raved at. I would just talk to him and remind him what a good player he was and the impact he could have on the game.”I always told him to be ultra-positive when he bats because when he was batting well he had a real confidence about him. When he batted badly he would lose that and his demeanour would change. That is why he would call himself a batting allrounder. He loves batting more than he loves bowling.”However Vaughan said Flintoff was not an easy player to deal with behind the scenes. “I wouldn’t agree with the theory that he was the heartbeat of the dressing room. He can be jovial and light hearted. He liked the dressing room to be a fun environment and maybe that is why his results under me were pretty good.”It is true that great teams need great individuals. In 2005 we had two in Fred and Kevin Pietersen. But you can afford to have two individuals only as long as the other nine are solid. If you have three or four who get easily distracted by the star names then it can be a problem. But in 2005 we had strong characters who knew what was required and that allowed KP and Fred to be who they wanted to be.”Flintoff averaged 40.20 with the bat and 27.29 with the ball in 2005 and shared the Man of the Series award with Shane Warne.Vaughan said he had his confrontations with Flintoff but the two always respected each other. “We had our ups and downs and there were times when I would think about the headaches he caused. We would have debates and confrontation but handling that is the art of captaincy … We have become very good friends and in fact speak more now than we ever did.”Vaughan said while Flintoff’s overall stats – he has only five Test centuries and three five-wicket-hauls from a career of 78 Tests – were not impressive, his impact on the team went beyond figures. “I have seen at close quarters what he has brought to he England team over the last few years and also the fans don’t care about stats. Also there is no stat that can tell us how many wickets he has earned the guy bowling at the other end.”Vaughan was optimistic about England’s future even though he said it would be hard to replace Flintoff. “The constant talk of whether he will play or the balance of the team without him will be over. The management can concentrate on trying to gel a team. They have to decide if they need four or five bowlers and without Fred the keeper, Matt Prior, becomes a huge player. Players like Stuart Broad, Tim Bresnan, Luke Wright, and Chris Woakes of Warwickshire have a chance. This is a great opportunity for a lot of young players but for the moment let’s just enjoy one last sight of Fred.”

أكد مسلى آل معمر رئيس نادي النصر السعودي استمرار لاعب الوسط الأوزبكي جلال الدين ماشاريبوف في صفوف العالمي في الموسم الحالي.
